Ector County providing water well screening

Beginning Aug. 5, Ector County residents near the location of the Permian Basin Containers fire will be able to pick up water well screening kits from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Permian Playhouse, 310 W 42nd St.

Aug. 6, residents will then be asked to return their samples from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the same location. Tests will be run on the samples throughout the day.

Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon, residents will then be provided their results individually. Additionally, residents will have the option of hearing an educational program on water wells from our partners at Texas A&M University System in the auditorium of the Permian Playhouse.

“State Rep. Brooks Landgraf, Ector County Precinct 1 Commissioner Mike Gardner, Ector County Ag Extension Agent Steve Paz, Ector County Health Department, and Ector County Emergency Management have been working tirelessly to provide citizens with answers and solutions. This well screening program is a result of their cooperation and leadership in response to the citizens who have spoken up for their community,” Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett said in a news release.
