Rowland is a signature member of the American Plains Artists, Midland Palette Club, Odessa Art Association and a founding member of Watercolor Horizons. He has won numerous awards throughout the Southwest. His watercolors portray the delicate beauty of the Southwest: a flowering cactus, a weary cowboy, or the rugged landscape of his beloved Big Bend. His works have gained a reputation for accuracy and beauty. He also teaches classes at his studio in Gardendale.
