LUBBOCK The UTPB women’s cross country team opened up the season by running at the Texas Tech Open Friday at the LCU Cross Country Course.
UTPB had three runners in the field of 113 runners that were competing on the six-kilometer course.
Kayla Cepeda was 91st with a time of 28 minutes and 29.80 seconds. Nayeli Galindo was 102 with a time of 30:40.40 while Julie Tejada was 105th at 31:20.80.
The Falcons will next run at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational at 10 a.m. Sept. 20 at Harry McAdams Park in Hobbs, N.M.
