The UTPB women’s soccer program got its signature moment with a 2-1 victory against 24th-ranked Angelo State in Lone Star Conference play Wednesday at Falcon Field.
The Falcons improved to 3-4-1 overall, 1-3 in conference.
The Rambelles suffered their first loss of the season (9-1-1, 4-1-0).
Angelo State’s Katelin Heise opened the scoring in the 11th minute, finishing a pass from Valerie Solis.
UTPB’s Cassandra Ramirez tied the game in the 18th minute with an unassisted goal.
The score remained level until the 86th minute when pressure by the Falcons created an own goal by the Rambelles for the final margin.
