Odessa College volleyball coach Dayana Acevedo-Rios threw several different rotations on the floor against Clarendon College.
All of them worked.
Ainara Fernandes had a match-high 14 kills to lead the Lady Wranglers past the Lady Bulldogs, 25-17, 25-21, 25-18, in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play Wednesday at the OC Sports Center.
Bella Green added seven kills and setter Kadyne Emmot finished with 34 assists in the victory.
Kayla Gillaspie led the Lady Wranglers with 22 digs, with Fernandes chipping in 12.
“Ainara had a really good game tonight,” Acevedo-Rios said. “And my libero (Gillaspie) really played well, too.
“I was trying some different combinations tonight and they all played hard.”
Odessa College improved to 23-7 overall, 9-4 in conference.
Clarendon dropped to 3-23, 0-13.
Acevedo-Rios’ changes also allowed her to rest several key players heading into the regular-season finale against Midland College.
The Lady Wranglers host the Lady Chaps at 2 p.m. Saturday at the OC Sports Center for seeding in the upcoming WJCAC Tournament.
Odessa College won the first meeting in five sets on Oct. 5 at the Chaparral Center.
“I think it’s going to be a good game,” Acevedo-Rios said. “The first one was a really good game, good volleyball and I think the girls will be ready to go.”
