The UTPB women’s soccer team dropped its Lone Star Conference opener Wednesday, falling by a 6-0 score against West Texas A&M at Falcon Field.
It took West Texas A&M about 11 minutes to find the back of the net, with Maliyah Mendoza scoring to give them a 1-0 lead.
The Buffaloes were able to score twice more in the next two minutes to take a 3-0 advantage to the end of the first half.
West Texas A&M would score three more times in quick succession in the second half to seal the win.
The Falcons will continue conference play against Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday in Commerce.
