SNYDER The Odessa College women’s basketball team picked up its first Western Junior College Athletic Conference win of the season, defeating Western Texas College 66-48 Thursday.
The Lady Wranglers had three double-digit scorers in the contest, with Lala Niankan leading the way with 18 points.
Marchelle Bowden added 12 points in the victory, while Nahawa Diarra Berthe contributed 10.
Odessa College got out to a strong start and held a 32-25 lead at the halftime break, cementing its victory by outscoring the Lady Westerners 34-23 through the second half.
The Lady Wranglers (4-11 overall, 1-2 WJCAC) will continue conference play against Midland College at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at the OC Sports Center.
