WEATHERFORD The Odessa College women’s basketball team advanced to the Region 5 tournament championship after defeating Clarendon College, 87-49 in the semifinal Friday at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center.
The Lady Wranglers (29-3) will face Collin County (29-2) in the tournament championship at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Collin County defeated No. 1-seed New Mexico Junior College, 78-69, in the semifinals on Friday.
Odessa College was led in scoring by Tia Shelling’s 25 points while Ivana Krajina had 15 and Chelsy Bautista had 12 points.
Clarendon College (20-11) was led by Ayisse Magassa’s 12 points while Aileen Becerril had nine and Lauryn Williams finished with eight.
