EUGENE, ORE. Bryce Hoppel returned to competition for his first race after competing in the Tokyo Olympics at the Prefontaine Classic Saturday at Hayward Field.
Hoppel finished eighth in the race with a time of 1 minute, 47.22 seconds in the men’s 800 meters.
Canada’s Marco Arop won the race (1:44.51) ahead of Olympic silver medalist Ferguson Rotich (1:45.02) and gold medalist Emmanuel Korir (1:45.05), both of Kenya.
