MIDLAND The Midland RockHounds finished their latest home series with a split after falling 7-2 to the Corpus Christi Hooks Sunday at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
Ross Adolph got the scoring started for the Hooks, hitting a two-run homer to center field in the top of the second inning to give his team an early lead.
Mickey McDonald got Midland (37-35 overall) on the board in the bottom of the third inning after scoring off a wild pitch before Corpus Christi answered with runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
The Hooks (32-40) pulled away thanks to three more runs in the top of the ninth inning.
The RockHounds are off Monday and will start a six-game series against the Tulsa Drillers at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
