AMARILLO The host Amarillo Sod Poodles scored a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning to come away with a 6-3 victory against the Midland RockHounds in the final game of the series Sunday at Hodgetown.
Tyler Ramirez led the RockHounds (9-9) with three hits, with Jeremy Eierman adding two hits in the loss. Ramirez, Nick Allen and Kyle McCann each had one RBI for Midland.
Mikey Reynolds went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored for the Sod Poodles (10-8), including a three-run home run in the sixth to put Amarillo in front for good.
