Midland RockHounds shortstop Nick Allen was named the MiLB Double-A Central Player of the Week Monday following his performance last week against the San Antonio Missions.
He went 14 for 22 at bat over six games and drove in six runs in the home series against San Antonio. Midland won the first four games of the series.
Allen improved his batting average to .364 on the young season after starting off with just two hits in the opening series at Frisco.
The RockHounds return to play Tuesday to start a six-game road series against the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hodgetown in Amarillo.
