The Permian volleyball team survived a five-set contest against Andrews to begin the season Tuesday at Permian Fieldhouse.
The Lady Panthers won by scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-27, 25-20, 22-20.
Permian (1-0) will next compete in the Monahans Tournament which begins Friday and will conclude the following day.
