CRANE The Compass Academy volleyball team had a strong showing in District 5-3A play Saturday, defeating Crane in three sets on the road.
The Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Birds 25-19, 25-15, 25-14.
It was a bounce back win after Compass Academy was swept earlier in the week by Sonora.
Carleigh Jones led the Lady Cougars with six kills, followed closely by Paige Jones who recorded five.
Paige Jones also spent the match setting up the attack, posting a team-leading nine assists.
The Lady Cougars will return to district play Tuesday, hosting Coahoma at 6 p.m. at the Cougar Den.
