KEYS TO VICTORY
>> STRETCH THE FIELD: The Panthers want to establish the run and have been successful in doing that so far this season. But they have gotten away from pushing the ball downfield and need to regain that balance on offense to keep their opponents guessing.
>> BETTER UP FRONT: The Panthers lost the line of scrimmage battle on defense last week, rarely putting enough pressure on Rebels’ quarteback Marcos Davila to force him into quicker decisions. They are facing another solid quarterback this week and need to get up the field and in his face.
>> HOLD ON: Permian had some uncharacteristic drops on the night on the option and much of that can be attributed to the Midland Legacy defenders forcing the edges and making the Panthers take risks with late pitches that didn’t work. Permian can’t give the opponent extra possessions or it will be a long night.
