The Andrews football team has a new leader in Tom Harvey.
Andrews ISD Superintendent Bobby Azam announced the hiring of the program’s newest head coach in a press release Wednesday.
Harvey has been on the Andrews coaching staff for the last seven years, working as the team’s defensive coordinator for the past five seasons.
Before joining the Mustangs, Harvey had previous stops at schools like Refugio and Corpus Christi Calallen.
Former Andrews coach Ralph Mason announced his retirement last week after leading the Mustangs to an 84-38 record in 10 seasons.
The Mustangs advanced to the area round of the Class 4A Division I playoffs this season, falling by a 43-33 score against Springtown.
