LUBBOCK The Odessa High boys basketball team held on to defeat Lubbock Estacado by a 67-60 score Thursday in the 62nd annual Caprock Classic Tournament.
Coco Rose led the Bronchos with 38 points scored in the contest, while Jaylen McCowan converted eight free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to help Odessa High advance.
The Bronchos trailed Lubbock Estacado 33-28 at halftime and made up some ground with a 15-point effort from Rose in the third period.
Odessa High (16-3 overall, 1-0 District 2-6A) went on to outscore Lubbock Estacado 39-27 in the second half to seal the victory.
It was the Bronchos’ second victory of the tournament after they defeated Lubbock-Cooper 80-47 Wednesday.
Odessa High will continue tournament play against Wolfforth Frenship at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lubbock Trinity Christian.
