Former Permian baseball standout Teo Banks was drafted with the 364th pick in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
Banks was one of nine high school seniors selected by the franchise.
The Tulane University signee was a first team selection at outfielder on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 6A All-State team last month.
Banks was also named District 2-6A’s Most Valuable Player on the 2021 All-District 2-6A team.
He helped the Permian baseball team to a 30-10 record in the 2021 season with a trip to the regional quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
