Permian graduate Teo Banks added one more accolade to his senior season after he was named a first-team all-state outfielder on the Class 6A all-state baseball team from the Texas Sports Writers Association Saturday.
Banks helped lead the Panthers to a District 2-6A title as well as a run to the regional quarterfinals during his senior campaign.
The Tulane signee was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft but opted to stick with his commitment to the Green Wave.
Midland Legacy’s Michael Weidner was a third-team selection at catcher while his teammate Trevor Roper was an honorable mention at shortstop.
