MIDLAND Austyn Reily of Pottsboro tapped in for par on the 72nd hold to win the Texas Amateur Championship by one shot Sunday at Midland Country Club.
Reily finished at 10-under par (70-71-67-70—278) to edge Jake Doggett of Hutto (70-70-68-71—279) and JT Pittman of Monahans (68-76-72-64—280) for the crown.
Pittman, who is headed to UNLV in the fall after playing at Midland College the past two seasons, carded the low round of the day and tied the course record after recording birdies on holes 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
