The UTPB volleyball team will host its opening match of the Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship.
Eighth-seeded UTPB will go up against ninth-seeded St. Mary’s at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Falcon Dome.
The winner of the contest will go on to play Angelo State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in San Angelo in the tournament quarterfinals.
UTPB is coming into the conference tournament off an 18-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-6 upset win over No. 13 UT Tyler Saturday.
It helped the Falcons snap a five-match losing streak.
UTPB has a 15-10 overall record, led by Aquincia Strambler’s 323 kills and Analise Lucio’s 824 assists over the 2021 season.
