The UTPB volleyball team closed out its weekend tournament with a victory in straight sets against New Mexico Highlands Saturday at Falcon Dome.
Playing on the final day of the Dr. Steve Aicinena “Iceman” Invitational, the Falcons won by scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-10.
UTPB was led in kills by Chyra Thompson who had 11 while Kennedi Wright had 10.
Lauren Demuth had four blocks for the Falcons while Kierra Freeman had 19 assists and Gabby Gregorski finished with 27 digs.
New Mexico Highlands was led by Aziza Morris who had six kills while Nicole Shaver and Abby Carlsen each had five assists.
Jaylee Gonzales and Shaver each had nine digs.
UTPB has now won five in a row.
The Falcons (5-2) will next face Texas A&M International at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 in Laredo.
