The UTPB volleyball team swept Minnesota-Crookston in the Falcons’ home opener Thursday at Falcon Dome.
Playing in the first of four home tournament games this week, UTPB improved to 4-1 for the season, winning by scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-14.
Minnesota-Crookston, which plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, fell to 1-4.
The Falcons were led by Gloria Geurin’s 16 kills while Logan Terazas had eight kills and Chyra Thompson had seven.
Cassandra Rother had three aces for UTPB and Thompson led the team in blocks with four.
Devin Alcoser and Jenna Gray each had 14 assists while Aaliyah Gray had 11 digs.
Minnesota-Crookston’s Audrey Cariveau led the team in kills with nine while Dana Melby had 12 and Kailee Waasdorp had 13 digs.
UTPB will be back in action with a 1 p.m. contest Friday against Eastern New Mexico.
After that, the Falcons will face St. Mary’s at 1 p.m. on Saturday and finishing up the tournament against Sul Ross State at 5 p.m. later that day.
