COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: UTPB defeats Southeastern Oklahoma State

The UTPB volleyball team extended its unbeaten run to four games with a five-set win against Southeastern Oklahoma State Friday at Falcon Dome.

Playing in the second day of the Dr. Steve Aicinena “Iceman” Invitational, the Falcons won by scores of 24-26, 25-21, 25-12, 12-25, 15-6.

UTPB now sits at 4-2 while Southeastern Oklahoma State fell to 1-4.

The Falcons were led in kills by Kennedi Wright’s 14 while Chyra Thompson had 12.

Thompson also had four blocks to lead the team while Jenna Gray had 25 assists and Gabby Gregorski finished with 27 digs.

Southeastern Oklahoma State’s D’Nari Mills had 17 kills, two aces and five blocks to lead her team while Ruthie Forson had 31 assists and Patience Lewis had 19 digs.

UTPB will be back on the court for its final game of the invitational against New Mexico Highlands University at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Falcon Dome.
