The UTPB volleyball team hosts Texas A&M-Commerce in a key Lone Star Conference match at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Falcon Dome.
The Falcons (14-9 overall, 9-6 in conference) currently sit tied for sixth in the conference standings with Dallas Baptist.
The Lions (12-9, 10-5) sit in fifth place.
A victory by UTPB would gives the Falcons a great chance to host an opening round match of the Lone Star Tournament next week as they would finished in the top eight in the conference.
A loss against Texas A&M-Commerce would put UTPB in the position of having to defeat conference leader UT Tyler on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
The top four teams earn a bye to the second round.
