The Odessa College volleyball team fell in its Western Junior College Athletic Conference opener against Western Texas College Wednesday.
The Lady Westerners defeated the Lady Wranglers 28-26, 25-23, 28-26 at the WTC Gymnasium in Snyder.
Sydney Collins led Odessa College (7-2, 0-1) with 15 kills, while Daniela Rodrigues followed closely with 14 of her own.
Isil Yilmaz paced the Lady Wranglers defensively with 26 digs.
Odessa College will look to turn things around against the New Mexico Military Institute at 2 p.m. Saturday at the OC Sports Center.
