The UTPB softball team saw its recent losing streak extend to six games after being swept by Angelo State in Lone Star Conference play Friday at UTPB Field.
UTPB fell 11-8 in Game 1 and suffered a 4-2 loss in the second contest against the Rambelles.
After falling behind by one run in the first game, the Falcons jumped ahead when Leslie Martinez and Aracely Araiza reached home plate.
That was the last time UTPB led, as Angelo State outscored the home team 10-6 through the rest of the game.
Martinez and Lani Graft paced the Falcons with two RBIs each the first contest, while Paxton Scheurer recorded six for Angelo State.
Game 2 was a closer affair, as UTPB jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Angelo State scored four unanswered runs, with a Madison Fernandez RBI double in the seventh frame helping the Rambelles come away with the win.
Araiza and Graft had an RBI each in the second game for UTPB, while Fernandez led Angelo State with two.
The Falcons (16-15 overall, 3-7 conference) will play two games against Lubbock Christian Sunday, with the first matchup starting at 1 p.m. at UTPB Field.
