YUMA, ARIZ. The Odessa College softball team got its quest for a national championship off to a good start with a 4-1 victory against San Jacinto College Tuesday at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
The Lady Wranglers (53-5) sored three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take control behind pitcher Aydenne Brown, who allowed three hits and struck out 10 in the complete-game effort.
Kaya Lee, Brooke Nauman, Madi Scott and Kaylen Ayala all had one hit for Odessa College.
Taniece Tyson was 1-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI for No. 12 San Jacinto College (42-15).
The fifth-seeded Lady Wranglers will face No. 13 Lake Land College, which upset No. 4 Seminole State, at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
