COLLEGE FOOTBALL: UTPB’s Jefferson named LSC Defensive Player of the Week

UTPB cornerback Jalani Jefferson was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior from Murrieta, Calif. had two interceptions and five tackles to help the Falcons defeat No. 9 Central Washington Saturday in Ellensburg, Wash.

Jefferson had two pass break-ups and one tackle for loss in the 14-13 win.

UTPB’s defense limited Central Washington to just 77 yards of offense in the second half and held the Wildcats to a scoreless fourth quarter.

Angelo state quarterback Braeden Fuller was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

His teammate kicker Cade Fuller was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

UTPB will next face Western Oregon at 6 p.m. Saturday at Astound Broadband Stadium in Midland.
