UTPB football coach Justin Carrigan has been named the school’s new Deputy Athletic Director, the school announced Tuesday in a release.
Carrigan is the only coach in program history, hired in 2015, with the team taking the field for the first time 2016.
Todd Dooley, UTPB’s Vice President for Athletics, expects Carrigan’s familiarity with the athletic programs, along with his community involvement, to help the Falcons grow across the board.
Dooley said a national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
“We want to thank Justin Carrigan for everything he’s done for the program since its inception,” Dooley said in the release. “Building a football program from the ground up is no easy task, and Justin has done it with class and dignity. His efforts have not gone unnoticed in building the program’s foundation and setting them up for success in the years to come. We are excited to watch Justin excel in a new leadership role.”
