MCKINNEY The UTPB football team received five first-place votes and was picked to finish tied for fourth with Midwestern State as the Lone Star Conference football poll was released Monday during the conference’s Media Day.
The Falcons received the second-most first-place votes behind Texas A&M-Commerce (15), who was tabbed to win the conference.
Angelo State was picked to finish second followed by West Texas A&M in third.
UTPB opens the season September 3 against the University of Fort Lauderdale at Ratliff Stadium.
