UTPB quarterback Clayton Roberts was named the Lone Star Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The junior from Houston threw six touchdown passes, setting up a single game program record for the Falcons and extended his team’s winning streak to eight in UTPB’s 42-31 victory over West Texas A&M Saturday at Ratliff Stadium.
The win was the first over the Buffaloes in the Falcons’ football program. UTPB remains 2-0 for the season.
Roberts was one score away from tying the single game LSC record for touchdown passes which was last accomplished in 2013.
Roberts went 23-of-32 for 281 yards. Nationally, he is tied for second in passing touchdowns.
Midwestern State’s Dylon Davis was the conference Defensive Player of the Week. His teammate Ritse Vaes was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
