SAN ANGELO The UTPB football team took down another top 25 ranked team as the Falcons recorded a 28-23 win over defending Lone Star Conference champion Angelo State Saturday on the road.
The No. 25 Falcons moved to 7-1 overall, 5-0 in conference while the No. 18 Rams fell to 4-3, 3-2.
Angelo State led 20-14 at the half before the Falcons responded with a Laquan Wells seven yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kenny Hrncir in the third quarter and the PAT put the Falcons in front 21-20.
Both teams went back and forth before the Falcons took a 28-23 lead into the final quarter and held on for the win.
UTPB will be back at home with a 6 p.m. contest on Oct. 28 against Western Oregon at Midland’s Astound Broadband Stadium.
