UTPB cross country runners Erik Flores and Hector Sanchez were honored by the Lone Star Conference for their performances in the ACU Naimadu Classic in Abilene last week.
Flores was named Male Runner of the Week after placing first at the meet in Abilene, clocking in at 24 minutes, 47.60 seconds in the 8k race.
Sanchez received Freshman of the Week honors after finishing in third at the same competition, completing his race in 25:02.90.
Both runners helped the UTPB cross country team to a second-place finish, one spot behind Abilene Christian and one place ahead of Baylor.
The Falcons continue their season at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational Friday in Hobbs, N.M.
