Odessa College’s Daniss Jenkins was a unanimous pick as Most Valuable Player on the All-Western Junior College Athletic Conference team released Sunday.
Teammates Daniel Rivera and Anthony Marshall joined Jenkins on the first team, with Dontrell Hewlett earning honorable mention recognition.
Odessa College coach Kris Baumann was selected as the conference’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Wranglers to an undefeated conference mark.
The Wranglers will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Men’s Division I National Tournament, March 14-19, in Hutchinson, Kan.
They will face the winner of the Shelton State-Roane State matchup in the second round. The Wranglers, with a victory, could face No. 1 Salt Lake Community College in the Elite Eight.
