Road win for Falcons
SAN ANTONIO Avalon Munoz scored a team-high 19 points in a return to her hometown to lead the UTPB women’s basketball team to a 74-60 victory against St. Mary’s in Lone Star Conference play Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena.
Morgan Helgesen finished with 14 points, Makayla Bingley chipped in 12 and Alexus Quaadman added 11 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth consecutive double-double.
UTPB improved to 9-10 overall, 6-7 in conference.
Gabby Elliott scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Rattlers (6-12, 2-10), with Ariah Powell finishing with 10 in the loss.

SAN ANTONIO The UTPB men’s basketball team struggled offensively, resulting in a 69-59 loss against St. Mary’s in a Lone Star Conference game Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena.
Ryan Leonard scored a game-high 23 points for the Rattlers (9-8 overall, 6-6 in conference), with Caleb Jordan adding 19 and Emmanuel Ewuzie 14 to the victory.
Jalen King and Azariah Seay each had 18 points to lead the Falcons (10-11, 4-8).
UTPB was averaging 73 points per game entering the contest.
