Falcons get first victory
SILVER CITY, N.M.The UTPB men’s basketball team had five players score in double figures in an 81-72 victory against Westminster (Utah) University in the LSC-RMAC Challenge Saturday at Western New Mexico.
DaJuan Jones, Azariah Seay abnd Jalen King all scored 15 points to lead the Falcons (1-1), with Daniel Moody finishing with 14 and Keyon Craddock 10 in the victory.
It was the second game in less than 24 hours for UTPB, which dropped a 72-69 decision against Adams State on Friday to open the season.
Trey Farrer scored a game-high 32 points to lead Westminster.

RAPID CITY, S.D. Holly Hemmeline scored 15 points to lead the UTPB women’s team to a 72-55 victory against South Dakota University Mines to open the season on Friday at the King Center.
Alexus Qaadman and Diavian Spencer each scored 14 points, with Andrea Mancha adding 13 to the Falcons’ victory.
Piper Bauer scored a game-high 19 points to lead South Dakota Mines.
The Falcons faced Colorado Mesa at 6 p.m. Saturday in their final game of the LSC-RMAC Challenge.
