The Odessa College men’s and women’s basketball teams will be competing at the Region 5 tournament this week in Weatherford.
The winners of both tournaments will receive an automatic qualification to the NJCAA championships.
The women’s tournament will run from March 13-16 while the men’s will run from March 14-16.
The Lady Wranglers (27-3 overall, 13-1 in WJCAC) is the No. 2 seed in the tournament and will face Temple College (23-6, 10-6 in the NTJCAC) in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
New Mexico Junior College is the No. 1 seed.
The women’s NJCAA tournament will take place in Casper, Wy.
The Odessa College men’s team will begin regional play as the No. 3 seed at 3 p.m. Thursday against No. 2-seed Weatherford College (21-9, 9-5).
The Wranglers enter at 23-7, 11-5.
The men’s NJCAA tournament will take place in Hutchinson, Kan.
