EL PASO The Odessa College baseball team split a doubleheader against El Paso Community College in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play Friday.
After falling 3-0 in the first game, the Wranglers bounced back and came away with a 10-9 victory in the second contest.
Odessa College kept it close after going down by a run in the bottom of the second in Game 1, but El Paso Community College pulled away with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Game 2 was more fruitful for the Wrangler batters, as an RBI triple from Chase Diggins in the 10th inning helped them break a late 9-9 tie.
Marshall Wales and Trent Hefner combined to strike out nine batters in the first contest, while Austin Russell recorded three RBIs in the second game.
Odessa College (13-8 overall, 1-1 conference) will play another doubleheader against El Paso Community College, starting at 1 p.m. Saturday in El Paso.
