NUGGETS: ‘You can do it’

By Jannie Linney

We are saved by grace, grace is understood by Christians to be a spontaneous gift from God to people. It is generous, free, totally unexpected and undeserved.

There is an advertisement on TV that encourages us to call this certain number and see what we can get. It goes on to say, “Call now and get all you deserve.”

Well, as Christians, we understand without Jesus, all we really deserve is death and Hell!

But in Jesus, we are told that the Lord supplies all our needs according His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.

Grace takes the form of divine favor, love, clemency and a share in the divine life of God. It is an attribute of God that is most manifest in the salvation of sinners. This reveals to us that God gives to us at the very beginning of our relationship with Him a security of everything we will ever need. We just don’t really understand what we have, and enter into a learning process for the rest of our life here on earth. All through His word, He teaches us, “You Can Do It.”

John speaks, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: [Salvation] but He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and Fire” [Matt.3:11]. He will engulf you with His Holy Ghost! And Fire that burns out impurities and sets you on fire for ministry. “But you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost come upon you: and you will be witnesses” [Acts 1:8]. This is telling us He has given us the power and the anointing of the Holy Ghost to do the work of the ministry. “You can do It.”

Jesus is speaking, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall He do; because I go to my Father.” [John 14:12]. Now Jesus is revealing our potential. Our abilities are not greater in quality than His, but in quantity. Back then He only had one body to work through, now He has millions for the Holy Ghost to flow through to help those that don’t know Jesus is available in this fashion. Notice He said, “He that believes on Me” He is a God of faith, Faith in What He said He will do. Now He has shown us how. Believe and “You can Do it.” What He tells us to do, will not always be in the pulpit! Minister and Laity are man’s terms. Not Bible, we are all called to some kind of ministry.

None of us feel qualified or spiritual enough to do the calling of God. We always know we are nothing without Him! He showed me a scripture years ago, “Now, when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus” [Acts 4:13]. Now He revealed the requirement! “Being with Jesus” I have always felt unlearned and ignorant, personified, in my ability to serve, only by being regularly with Jesus can I serve in this awesome Kingdom.

I could write a book on all the things I have seen Jesus do through the ministry God has given me. Now listen, I could not do anything on my own, but the Jesus that lives in me can do anything through me that a person can believe and have faith for, that is according to His word.

Just one example: A conference I spoke at, in El Paso, Texas, there was a man that was to have surgery on his back on Monday morning, he came up for prayer. During the prayer, he fell out in the Spirit. The ushers came to help him get up, the Lord showed me he was in surgery, I said, don’t get him up. I went on praying for the line of people and ushers tried again, I said no, he is in recovery. I went on praying for people.

Later God said, “Get him up he is in therapy.” We did, and he walked back and forth with no pain, Long story short, he didn’t have surgery. God is not a respecter of person. What He does for one He will do for another. “You can Do It”
