God has always called us into a deeper walk with Him. Now with wars and rumors of wars, terrorist and this unsettled world, He is making a new call to us, calling that we should seek and draw ever closer to Him. “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. [Rom.12:1]. Now notice He is talking to brethren, the saved people, and that YOU present, YOU sacrifice.
That is “our reasonable service” that is the least we can do, thinking about what he has done for us. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” [John 3:16]
Jesus, who was willing to leave the splendor of heaven and take on a flesh body, He took upon Himself the sin, sickness, disease, rejection, and humiliation for you and me.
He gave Himself to that horrible death. He was buried and was resurrected so that when we accept Him as the Savior of our life, our old man can be buried and we can arise to a new life in Christ. This is why we are buried in a water baptism, as a symbol of that death, burial and resurrection that we have already received in the spirit [Read Rom.6:4]
Yes, we arise to a new life in Christ. Then the cleansing process of the soulish realm starts. “We are being moved from glory to glory in the likeness of Christ Jesus by the Spirit of the Lord” [2Cor.3:18]. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” [Rom.12:2]. As we yield our bodies to Him and renew our minds through His word, then, “Ye may prove” yes it’s when we live the life He set for us that we prove what Christianity really is and what is good and acceptable to God.
We renew our minds with the washing of the water of the Word. The mind is the battle ground of the spirit. We win or lose a battle in our mind first. The body will do what the mind tells it. If our mind is steeped in the worldly things we lose. If our mind is saturated in the things of God we win! “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” [Proverbs 23:7] Talking about Mankind! Being a doer of the word and not a hearer only [James 1:22]. Us revealing who Christ really is, is what it’s all about. We can show openly that Christianity works. By being the true Body of Christ here on earth, we reveal Him to the world. We can show that there is victory in this life if we stay in Christ. We are all looking forward to the trip to heaven, but Christ taught us we can have a wonderful, eventful time on the journey as we go. Every day is an adventure in Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the best entertainer there is. He can give us a high that is higher than any high the world can give and there is no hangover afterward.
Why not give Him an opportunity today, whatever state you are in. You may not know Him at all; you may have once known Him and are not serving Him today. You may be serving Him yet you want more. Just release yourself and say “Lord forgive me of all my sins. Cleanse me from all that is not you. I want all you have for me. Take my life and do your will in me. Take me into the deepest realm you want me to go and raise me to the highest heights that you have for me.” Then, listen for His voice and be willing to obey what He says. Satan’s voice will, always ultimate take you into lies, deception and defeat. The Voice of God will always lead you ultimately into victory and truth, deep into Him and His word, and high into Life Everlasting.
