The City of Odessa Parks and Recreation Department hosted Take Me Fishing in partnership with Atmos Energy Saturday morning at the Comanche Trail Pond. The event featured fishing, free food, games, and fishing classes from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to teach inexperienced fishers the basics of traditional fishing such as tying the hook onto the line, casting a spin casting reel, identifying fish and demonstrating how to be a safe and responsible angler. Fishers could also take part in competitions for largest fish, smallest fish, longest fish and most unique fish.
