Odessans took part in the celebration of the first day of Lent, Ash Wednesday, across town at various Ashes To Go stations offered by Connection Christian Church and St. John’s Episcopal Church. Connection Christian Church began offering Ashes To Go starting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and will conclude their service at the H-E-B parking lot at 42nd Street and Grandview Avenue at around 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.
