The Texas Music Office, an official extension of the Office of the Governor of Texas, held a ceremony Friday evening in addition with Odessa Arts certifying Odessa as an Official Music Friendly Community at the Ector Theatre. The Texas Music Office aims to create opportunity, connect businesses within the music industry across Texas, and foster the economic development of Texas music businesses and musicians. Each Music Friendly Community has to meet a variety of requirements including hosting workshops, registering with the Texas Music Office’s Texas Music Industry Directory and creating an advisory board made up of local music community industry stakeholders.
