Every Friday the 13th, tattoo shops around the world celebrate the occasion with a variety of offerings ranging from discounted tattoos to Friday the 13th designs to commemorate the experience. Odessa’s Evil Ink Tattoo shared in the celebration as it saw lines reach nearly around the block. Customers visited the shop to take home their own memory of the “unlucky day.” Evil Ink Tattoo has hosted the event since its opening in 2009 and each year the event grows larger than the last. Manager Gena Navarrette estimates the shop serves more than 1,000 customers between 18 artists beginning early in the morning and going until late in the evening.
