Economic development deal on agenda

 

The Odessa College Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Saulsbury Room of the Electronics Technology building, 201 W. University Blvd.

The board will consider approval of an economic development program between Odessa College and 1PointFive P1.

The company’s website said Oxy Low Carbon Ventures started 1PointFive to jumpstart the “Direct Air Capture industry around the world. By implementing Carbon Engineering’s DAC facilities in the United States at scale, we intend to showcase the critical role this technology can play in reducing the global carbon footprint.”

Some of the other items on the agenda are:

>>  Renewal of terms of directors of Odessa College Foundation.

>> Appointment of new directors of Odessa College Foundation.

>>  Appoint a member to the Appraisal District Board of Directors for 2021-2022 term.

>> An education report on the Promise Program.

>> An institutional effectiveness report.

>> A Vision 2030+ update.

>> The approved audited financial statement.

>>  Monthly financial statements and budget amendments.

>> The president’s report from President Gregory Williams on the Wrangler Food Pantry Holiday Food Basket Giveaway; Odessa College Leadership Institute Class of 2021; United Way update; OC Honors 2021; and board member Bruce Shearer honored at Veterans Day flag raising ceremony.

And two executive sessions, one to consult with their attorney and the other to discuss a personnel matter.
