Zac Brown Band member offers $400 classroom grants for music integration project

Coy Bowles, a member of the Zac Brown Band, children’s author, and passionate advocate for teachers, is offering five $400 mini-grants to support innovative classroom projects incorporating music.

Inspired by conversations with teachers about the challenges they face, particularly in student transitions and behaviors post-pandemic, Bowles has created a variety of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) tools, including his latest children’s music album, “Up and Up.”

Songs like “The Cleanup Song” are designed to help teachers manage transitions in a fresh, engaging way.

To apply for one of the five $400 grants, educators are asked to share how they incorporate music into their classrooms, including posting a video of how they use “The Cleanup Song” creatively. Applicants will also be asked what types of songs would further enhance their classrooms, providing feedback on what modern music tools would help them better support students.

Grant details:

  • Grant amount: $400 each (5 grants available)
  • Application deadline: Dec. 13, 2024
  • Who can apply: Pre-K through 5th-grade teachers who creatively use music in their classrooms.
