A 34-year-old Arkansas man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash 13 miles outside Mentone in Loving County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Brandon Paul Lumpkin was traveling southeast on CR200 in a Ford F-150 when he started to pass a 2013 Kenworth truck and trailer in a no-passing zone. When the Kenworth’s driver, a 44-year-old man from Magnolia, started to turn left into a private drive, the Ford steered back into the southbound lane and hit the rear of the trailer.
Lumpkin was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth was uninjured.
