Odessa Fire Rescue is investigating a house fire that caused the death of one woman Sunday.
The fire was first reported at a home in the 3800 block of Springdale Drive around 6 a.m. Sunday, CBS7 reported.
“Upon arrival, there was very heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence,” City of Odessa Spokeswoman Andrea Goodson told CBS7. “There were three occupants of the home, two were able to escape safely, the third did not.”
CBS7 also reported that it’s believed one of the dogs at the home did not survive, and one other home suffered damage from the fire as well.
The victim has not been identified at this time, CBS7 reported, and investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
