Woman accused of stabbing sister

A 24-year-old woman was arrested Friday after family members told authorities she stabbed her 29-year-old sister in the face.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies received a disturbance call around 2:30 p.m. Friday from the 10000 block of West Chaparral.

When deputies arrived, a 47-year-old woman said she and one of her daughters had gone to the home on West Chaparral to check on her younger daughter, Isabel Alexandri Nunez, because she was intoxicated to the point of losing consciousness. According to the report, the woman said when Nunez woke up, she got a knife from the kitchen and stabbed her other daughter in the cheek.

A man in the home said the two sisters were in a physical fight when Nunez, his girlfriend, stabbed her sister, according to the report.

Nunez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

Nunez was released from the Ector County jail Sunday after posting a $25,000 surety bond.
